Boss Carpet One Floor and Home has been built on a foundation that is deeply rooted in hard work, loyalty, and family tradition. What started as a love for interior design over 100 years ago has become a legacy that continues to uphold the values and integrity it was founded on. Five generations later, Boss Carpet One Floor and Home continues to thrive as a leading expert in its industry.

In 1930, John H. Boss made two purchases that unknowingly set the stage for not only his success, but for many generations to come. The first of these purchases was the last rug that had been made by Deltox Company, a braided rug manufacturer in Wisconsin that was going out of business. With an eye for opportunity and appreciation for true craftsmanship, the second purchase he made was the machine that made the rug. John and his family began fabricating braided rugs out of their home until 1944 when they opened their first storefront in Westmont, IL. Over the next 15 years they continued to grow in popularity. In 1969, they purchased a mill in Henderson, North Carolina to accommodate the company’s ever-growing need for high volume production.

In 1981 John and Julie Boss opened Floor-Mart of IL in Dixon. Over the next decade, their growth skyrocketed and in 1991 they hired their first salesman. They opened a 2nd location in Freeport, IL in 2000 and three years later opened their third store in Cape Coral, Florida. John and Julie’s sons have since taken ownership of all 3 locations. Boss Carpet One in Dixon and Freeport is now owned and operated by Ben Boss while Nick Boss has taken over the Florida location.
