Meet Ben Boss, the proud owner of Boss Carpet One and the fifth-generation Boss in the flooring industry. Growing up in the Dixon community, he was surrounded by the flooring business, and it's in his blood. 

With years of experience, he's seen it all and done it all when it comes to carpets, hardwood, and tile. From providing flooring for large commercial projects to creating design plans, Ben is a master of his trade. His passion for flooring and his commitment to excellence has earned him a reputation as a trusted and reliable business owner. Joe Doane

General Manager

Joe is the general manager of our flooring stores who's got nearly a decade of experience and is an expert in the field. He's the man in charge and makes sure everything runs smoothly. But before he was the big boss, he was just a humble salesperson, working his way up the ranks.

Joe is the ultimate flooring expert, he knows more than most about flooring and is always happy to share his knowledge with customers. He's got an eye for design and can help customers pick the perfect flooring for their home or office and is also known for his ability to close a deal - his sales skills are second to none.

He's also known for his great memory. Customers are often surprised that he is able to remember every customer's name and what flooring they picked out even from years ago. He's a leader that leads by example and is always willing to roll up his sleeves and get his hands dirty.

Michelle Gahan

Office Manager/Accounting

Meet Michelle, the woman who can make numbers dance and paperwork sing! With over 30 years of experience in construction-related businesses, she's the ultimate combination of brains and organization.

As an accountant and office manager, Michelle is the glue that holds our business together... just ask our retail sales staff and commercial flooring department! Her organizational skills are second to none and she's always one step ahead, making sure everything runs smoothly. But, don't let her love for order fool you, she's also a master of multitasking and can handle any challenge thrown her way.

When it comes to dependability, Michelle is the poster child. You can always count on her to show up, get the job done, and done well. Her work ethic is legendary and her attention to detail is razor-sharp. With her on the team, you can rest easy knowing that everything is in good hands.

But don't let all this talk of numbers and paperwork fool you, Michelle has a sense of humor too. She's always cracking jokes and keeping the office in a good mood. And when it comes to office pranks, she's a master. She's the whole package!

Bill Whiteley

Commercial Project Manager

Say hello to Bill, the commercial project manager who's as elusive as a ghost! He's always out in the field, managing our largest and most complex projects, and is rarely seen in the office. But when he is in the office, he's always got a new story to tell about his latest project.

A master of organization and attention to detail, he's got a system for everything, and he always knows where everything is and what needs to be done. He's the one who makes sure that our crews of commercial installers are on schedule and always working to the highest standards.

Bill is the ultimate field manager, always on the go, and always on the lookout for new projects to tackle. He's a master of multitasking, juggling multiple projects at once, and always delivering results. He's also known for his ability to navigate through any obstacles that come his way, and always finds a way to make it work.

Holly Westgerdes, AKBD

Kitchen & Bath Designer

Meet Holly, a certified kitchen designer with nearly 20 years of experience under her belt. She is a certified NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association) designer, which means she's like a wizard in the kitchen design world. With her magical touch, she can transform even the most mundane kitchen into a culinary paradise.

Holly works in both Dixon and Freeport and is well-known for her award-winning designs that will make you say "Wow, I never knew a kitchen could be this cool!" Her designs have been featured in magazines, which is no small feat. She's like the Beyoncé of kitchen design.

But don't let her fame fool you, Holly is not just a pretty face, she also has a great sense of humor. She'll make you laugh while she's designing your dream kitchen, and you'll have so much fun working with her, you'll forget that you're even in a kitchen showroom.

Nick Litts

Nick is the newest member of our team and let me tell you, he's been killing it! He's like a superhero in training, using his powers for good and making customers super happy.

Since joining us in 2021, Nick has been impressing everyone with his skills, attitude and work ethic. He's been receiving rave reviews (check out Google!) from customers and even some high fives from colleagues (post-Coronavirus, we can do this now…). He's always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that our customers are satisfied and happy, which is a trait that we all admire.

Nick has also been able to develop a fun rapport with our customers, which is no small feat. He has a unique ability to make customers laugh and feel at ease, even during the most stressful of situations, like having your house torn apart for a flooring installation. He's like a customer whisperer, always able to understand their needs and exceed their expectations.

Overall, Nick has been a blast to have on our team and we're lucky to have him. He's like the cherry on top of the sundae of our team and we look forward to seeing him continue to excel in his role.

Morgan Ross

With 5 years of experience under her belt, Morgan is a certified flooring expert with Carpet One.
